HOW TO MAKE ONE-SKILLET CABBAGE ROLL CASSEROLE WITH BEEF

Although traditional cabbage rolls are delicious, this Cabbage Roll Casserole is much better! A light tomato sauce coats the cabbage, meat, and rice in this meal, producing a mouthwatering delight. It’s a hearty and straightforward meal — and, most all, it’s tasty!

My family may not be shocked that I’m preparing yet another casserole; but, the dishes are never left unattended. Everyone always consumes every single morsel of food! So, casseroles are the finest, in my opinion! Unfortunately, one of the disadvantages of casseroles is that they are not necessarily the most aesthetically beautiful dishes to look at. For example, this dish may not seem to be very appetizing at first glance. But believe me when I say that it is far better than it seems. Allow your sense of taste to guide you through this one.

To make cabbage rolls properly for the first time, there are two things you need to understand. First and foremost, they are delectable. And second, they’re a pain in the butt. The confluence of tastes in this dish — browned ground beef, onions, rice, cabbage, and tomato sauce – is really delicious. It takes time and effort to make it, since you must first boil the cabbage by itself, then prepare the filling, then wraps it up in the cabbage leaves and bake it in a casserole dish. That is just too many steps for a busy chef to complete. But it is really worth the effort!!

INGREDIENTS LIST:

Half of a medium head of cabbage, shredded.

1 pound.Of ground beef.

Half a Cup.Of uncooked rice.

A chopped large white onion.

Tomato sauce, I used 15-ounces.

Beef broth, I used 15-ounces.

2 small spoons.Of minced garlic.

Salt and ground pepper, to taste.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1:

Begin by browning the meat in a pan over medium-high heat until it is no longer pink. Just before removing the meat from the pan, add the garlic to the steak and mix well. the meat should be drained well.

Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sauce, cabbage, onion, salt, pepper, and rice until well combined. Combine the steak and cabbage in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3:

Starting with the cabbage, layering the beef mixture, and finishing with the cheese in a 9×9 baking pan.

Step 4:

At this stage, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, then cover the pan and dish with tinfoil to prevent them from burning. And bake your casserole at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.

Step 5:

Remove the dish from the oven after an hour. Before putting the dish back in the oven, give it another stir and make sure it’s covered with foil again.

Step 6:

Allow the dish to bake for another 15-30 minutes. When the meal has completed baking, the rice should be cooked through and the cabbage should be tender.
