How To Make It?
In this one-skillet meal, you’ll enjoy all of the great tastes of your favorite fried Chinese restaurant appetizer in a lighter, quicker version. It takes just 20 minutes to prepare an “Egg Roll in a Bowl,” which is a fast and nutritious supper.
It’s similar to an egg roll, however without the wrapper! As far as I’m concerned, I can’t claim credit for this brilliant concept since it’s been splattered all over the internet in recent years. After a yearning for Chinese cuisine struck me like a ton of bricks (does that ever happen to you?! ), I decided it was time to go in the kitchen and make my own Egg Roll in a Bowl recipe.
It has all of the flavors of an Asian-inspired dinner without any of the deep-fat fryings that you may be used to. A savory sauce is stirred into a large, attractive pan of fresh veggies and lean protein, which is then served over a bed of rice.
Moreover, in my usual style, I was able to develop a dish that required practically NO preparation time! I didn’t even have to use my cutting board or knife for this supper, thanks to the assistance of a package of coleslaw mix and a bag of matchstick carrots. Use kitchen shears to cut the green onions directly over the skillet, as seen in the photo. Once again, there is no need for a knife or cutting board! The simple, fresh flavors of this Egg Roll in a Bowl combine to create a delicious, family-friendly supper that can be prepared in one pan. This means that you may prepare a healthy supper for your team in less than 30 minutes…with just one pan to clean at the end of the meal. I’m telling you, this is the ultimate weeknight supper recipe!
This meal is made much better by the addition of sesame oil, which gives the dish its distinctive “Asian” flavor. As an added bonus, the oil can be found in a very little container in the Asian food department of almost any grocery store, even places like Walmart. Please, please, please don’t skip it! We go through a lot of toasted sesame oil in my house since I use it so often in my cooking. it is one of the best additions that give your food an extremely delicious taste!
