BAKED DONUTS RECIPE

HOW TO MAKE BAKED DONUTS?

I’ve never met anybody who couldn’t eat a warm fried doughnut with a crispy sweet crust on the outside. These donuts are light and fluffy, and they have a lovely golden color. Alternatively, you may use your preferred filling to fill them instead of the strawberry jam that comes pre-filled. Making handmade doughnuts takes a little more time, but the results are well worth it! You will certainly be a huge hit with your family and friends when you serve them still warm from the oven.

The doughnut base is a thick, sweetened, yeasted dough that is baked till golden brown. To begin with, the dough is very tough and sticky, but the more you knead it, the smoother and silkier the finished product will be. It’s a wonderful dough to work with for youngsters since it’s nearly like soft Play-Doh in texture. Different shapes and forms may be created from the dough. Who says you can’t eat a doughnut in the form of a heart or a hedgehog? I attempted to make some ring doughnuts, but they didn’t turn out well after they were baked. If you wanted to create ring shapes, just make the rings thin and spread them out to allow the dough enough room to rise before baking.

It is important not to be turned off by the prospect of creating your own doughnuts. Once you’ve tasted your first handmade one, you won’t be able to stop eating them. Light as a feather dough, caramelized and sugared on the exterior, and stuffed with jam in the center, makes for a delicious dessert.

This is how I prepare my famous baked donuts recipe, follow the steps as directed below:

Step 1:

To make the dough, I whisked together a cup of flour, a quarter cup of white sugar, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, and a quarter teaspoon of salt in a large mixing bowl until well combined.

Step 2:

I added the heated milk, three tablespoons melted butter, two large egg yolks, and half a teaspoon of vanilla extract, whisking constantly, until everything was well mixed.

Step 3:

I covered it with plastic wrap and set it aside at room temperature for at least 10 minutes until a few bubbles form on the bottom of the container.

Step 4:

After that, I added the remaining one and a half cups of flour, adding just enough to make a dough that stayed together and did not cling to the sides of the bowl. Five minutes of kneading in the bowl.

NOTE:

If the dough is really sticking to your hands, add a little flour on top and continue kneading with clean, dry hands until the dough is no longer sticking. I

Step 5:

In a 100°F oven, I put the dough for 45 minutes, or just at room temperature for an hour an half, until doubled in size.

Step 6:

At this step, I turned the temperature of the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit with a rack in the center of the oven and I lined a baking pan with parchment paper.

Step 7:

And I turned the dough out onto a floured surface and rolled it out to a half-inch thickness, I cut out circles using a spherical cookie cutter that is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. If necessary, re-roll the scraps to create a total of 12 donuts.

Step 8:

I left the dough again at room temperature for 45 minutes, until rise, then I baked them in the preheated oven for about 13 minutes, until just slightly brown.

Step 9:

Immediately after taking the donuts out of the oven, I brushed it with the last spoon of melted butter and rolled it in a bowl of sugar to cover it with a light coating of sugar.

Step 10:

Then, I prepared each doughnut by cutting a deep slit into the side of each one and filled each one with jam using a pastry bag.

Step 11:

To finish, I used granulated sugar to roll in the donuts.
