About a year ago, I came across “Do Nothing Cake” on the internet for the first time. Naturally, I was drawn to the title since it indicated a simple recipe that could be prepared quickly and successfully. It was, in fact, the situation.

This is a from-scratch recipe for a dump cake — all you have to do is combine the cake ingredients, pour the batter into a baking pan, and bake until done. A stick is used to poke holes in the baked cake, which is then covered with a simple coconut and walnut frosting. The frosting is a little runny and soaks into the cake.

The cake mix has no butter, oil, or other fats, but it does include crushed pineapple, which keeps the cake moist.
With a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top, Do Nothing Cake is great. It’s also a great dessert to bring to a potluck!
