EASY HOMEMADE DIVINITY CANDY

 

HOW TO MAKE DIVINITY CANDY?

Divinity candy is a delicious time-honored tradition that doesn’t include modern artificial coloring or additional ingredients.
Divinity candies are fluffy, pillowy soft, and delicious like grandma used to make!

Divinity is my dream Christmas candy, I couldn’t celebrate without it. My Grandma Jessica was a fantastic candy producer, and I have fond memories of her kitchen counter being piled high with Christmas candy tins filled with homemade confections during the holidays.

If you’ve never had divinity, it’s a smooth, sweet white nougat that tastes like a bridge between fudge and marshmallow.

TO PREPARE YOUR OWN DIVINITY CANDY AT HOME, YOU WILL NEED THESE FEW AND SIMPLE INGREDIENTS :

400 grams.Of granulated sugar.

2 egg whites, choose large eggs.

1 Cup.Of chopped toasted pecans.

1/2 Cup.Of light corn syrup.

1/2 Cup.Of water.

1 small spoon.Of pure vanilla extract.

A pinch of salt.

TO PREPARE THE DIVINITY LIKE MY GRANDMA DID, YOU’LL NEED JUST TO FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

Step 1:

I mixed the sugar with water, corn syrup, and a pinch of salt, and I brought the mixture to a small saucepan to a boil and simmer on low heat until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2:

And using an electric mixer, I increased the mixer speed to high and beat the egg whites until they developed firm peaks, then I continued beating when adding the hot syrup on medium speed for another 7 minutes.

Step 3:

Once, the mixture has reached firm consistency, I stir in the vanilla extract and the cup of chopped pecans.

Step 4:

Using a rounded teaspoon, I spooned the mixture out onto the greased paper.

Step 5:

At this stage, you are free to add any garnish you want to your candies, personally, I used roasted pecan halves.

Step 6:

After that, I allowed it to sit at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes.

NOTE:

You may also use a cookie scoop coated with cooking spray to portion divinity onto waxed paper. This process is much quicker than spoons and produces ideally-sized portions, but it does not leave a flawless finish as spoons do.
