
How To Make Chocolate Buttermilk Cake?
“I call this Chocolate Cake “Old Fashioned” because it has a very soft and moist crumb that is reminiscent of a box-mix cake.
I made this for friends and one asked for the recipe immediately, because it was just like something her grandmother used to make, so I knew I would hit AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS on the correct chocolate cake recipe. Because showing someone you care about is not just about fancy frippery and gimmicks, it’s about good old-fashioned love and kindness, and that cake just screams that out.
INGREDIENTS :
2 Squares. Of unsweetened chocolate, I melted it in the microwave.
2 large eggs.
2 C.Of sifted cake flour.
1+1/2 C.Of white sugar.
1 C.Of buttermilk.
1/2 C.Of softened butter.
1 T.Of vinegar.
1 t.Of Kosher salt.
1 t.Of vanilla extract.
1 t.Of baking soda.
TO MAKE CHOCOLATE FROSTING ALL YOU NEED IS :
3 C.Of sifted confectioners’ sugar.
3 Squares.Of unsweetened chocolate, I melted it in the microwave.
1 t.Of pure vanilla extract.
1/2 C.Of softened butter.
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1:
I set my oven to 350 degrees, and I greased two 9-inch cake pans, after that, I lined the bottom of the pans with parchment paper.
Step 2:
I creamed the butter until light and fluffy in a standing mixer.
Step 3:
I added the sugar and beat until creamy. After that, I added the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition. And I stir in the melted chocolate.
Step 4:
I combined cake flour and salt in another bowl. Alternately, I added the buttermilk and chocolate mixture, and I stir the vanilla extract in.
Step 5:
I dissolved the baking soda into the vinegar in a small cup, and I added this to the chocolate mixture slowly. Just I mixed till well combined.
Step 6:
I poured the batter into the prepared pans, and I baked for around 35 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean in the middle.
Step 7:
I let cool for 15 minutes in the pans, then I transferred from the pans to the wire racks and cool until frosting prepared.
HOW TO MAKE AN EASY AND QUICK CHOCOLATE FROSTING!
Step 1:
I creamed the butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Then I added the sugar gently, a half cup at a time, beating well between all additions.
Step 2:
I stir in some vanilla extract and melted chocolate.
Step 3:
I beat well until all ingredients were incorporated, and it was ready to use!
