How To Make Turtle Candy With Pecans and Caramel?
Ingredients:
96 walnut halves
ten ounces of dark chocolate
Eleven oz Kraft Caramels Bag, unwrapped
a tablespoon of butter
two tablespoons evaporated milk
Cover 2 baking sheets with a silicone mat
Preparation:
Preheat the oven to 350F
Put the nuts on an uncoated baking sheet and grill for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Heat half of the chocolate in a microwave-safe container on high power for 1 minute. Remove and delete. Microwave another 15-30 seconds and stir again until melted and smooth.
Place small amounts of chocolate on prepared baking sheets and remove them to a quarter of the size. Garnish with 4 pecan halves to form turtle legs.
You can go to the next step immediately or place the tray in the freezer to firm for 5 minutes.
Fuse the caramels/butter/milk in the microwave. Start in one minute, stir, and, if necessary, heat in 15-second increments until smooth. I like to let the caramel cool slightly to thicken before continuing.
Add a small tablespoon (about 1/2 teaspoon) of caramel to the top of each turtle.
Then put the tray in the freezer for 6 min.
Fuse the remaining chocolate and add a little amount to every turtle, spreading it to cover the caramel. I like to give the chocolate a little swirl while I lift the spoon. Put the tray in the freezer for 6 min.
ENJOY!
