About a year ago, I came across “Do Nothing Cake” on the internet for the first time. Naturally, I was drawn to the title since it indicated a simple recipe that could be prepared quickly and successfully. It was, in fact, the situation.
This is a from-scratch recipe for a dump cake — all you have to do is combine the cake ingredients, pour the batter into a baking pan, and bake until done. A stick is used to poke holes in the baked cake, which is then covered with a simple coconut and walnut frosting. The frosting is a little runny and soaks into the cake.
The cake mix has no butter, oil, or other fats, but it does include crushed pineapple, which keeps the cake moist.
With a dollop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top, Do Nothing Cake is great. It’s also a great dessert to bring to a potluck!

First, I started with setting the oven to 350 degrees before I began the preparation.
Next, I just combined all the cake ingredients, beat using an electric mixer until I had an incorporated mixture,
Then, I poured the batter into a greased 13.9-inches pan, and pop it in the oven to bake the cake for approximately 40 minutes.
In a medium saucepan, I mixed the soft butter with evaporated milk and both sugars and heated for around 5 minutes. You need to make sure that you don’t allow the mixture to boil.
To prepare the frosting, I removed the previous mixture from the stove, and I whisked in a cup of coconut and another cup of chopped pecans.
And finally, I poured the hot mixture over the baked cake. Once it has cooled, the cake should be stored in the refrigerator.
